• Character Personality:
— Positive Trait: Determination and courage. Not just anyone can be a superhero, especially considering most of those in the Watchmen universe don't have powers. Rorschach has been doing what he does for a very long time. When he's actively on a case or protecting someone, he never gives up no matter what it takes. When surrounded by a whole lot of men he put in prison who want him dead, he doesn't flinch or cower. Instead, he makes a bold statement of violence that sets him up as being the most brutal motherfucker in the room, and gets a great number of them to back off for fear he's going to deal with them next.
— Positive Trait: Caring and protective. For all he tries to act otherwise, Rorschach actually cares quite a lot about people as a whole, even if individuals tend to disappoint him. He didn't get into the superhero trade because he thought it would make him famous or wealthy or because it seemed fun. He did it solely so he could help people out and make the world a better place. Unfortunately, this caring tendency also means he feels his emotions very deeply, especially when he feels he's failed in his duties to protect people. Part of the inflexibility mentioned below stems from trying not to get hurt emotionally time and again.
— Positive Trait: Situational awareness. Rorschach is far smarter than his awkward ways with most people would let on. When it comes to fighting, he's quick to survey the environment around him for tools to use and improvise weapons from. When he's using his detective skills, it's shown he has a knack for thinking outside the box, such as when it comes to figuring out where the Comedian stored his gear in a spot completely hidden in the back of his closet.
— Negative Trait: No social skills. Rorschach has all the social skills of a mangy alley cat and that's being generous. He's blunt to the point of rudeness, makes no attempt at getting along with people, and pushes as hard as he can against their boundaries in an attempt to make them snap or push him away. He has precisely one friend in the form of Nite Owl and very nearly drives him away with his actions. Something as simple as a handshake is shown to be a very intimate act for him and it's implied that before initiating one with Nite Owl late in the movie it had been a very long time since any approached him with any positive physical intent.
— Negative Trait: Inflexible. Rorschach, much like the mask he wears, thinks in black-and-white. People are either good or evil with no in-between. Women are either saints or whores. This is a coping mechanism thought up to help keep the world in an orderly fashion in his mind. Without it, facing the chaos and often senseless tragedies that happen is too much for him. Unfortunately, this very mindset makes it hard for him to function around people. People are always in shades of grey, himself included, and he often finds contradictions in his logic that are difficult or impossible for him to overcome. Ironically, if the world functioned as he truly wanted it to, there would be no place for him in it.
— Negative Trait: Brutal. Rorschach has lived in a harsh world for many years fighting criminals. After an extremely traumatizing child murder case in the 70s, he began murdering those who committed crimes rather than letting them live and turning them into the police. This continues up to the present day, where he shows far more force than he needs to when facing opponents, even when doing something as simple as interrogating a suspect. His harsh nature makes it hard for him to back down and take situations from a ten down to a three.

• Fighting skills. He's skilled in gymnastics, boxing, and judo, creating a unique way of fighting opponents.
• Detective. He's very observant about the world around him, talented in being able to read situations and to a lesser extent people.
• Scrounging. Seeing as how he's been one step above homelessness for about ten years, he's good at finding things he needs to survive, whether that's food or tools.
• Make and repair clothes. He's got some talent in making clothes (he figured out a way to make several masks from a dress without destroying the unique materials it was made out of) and being able to repair them.
